Leadership for Today and Tomorrow
I am excited about the opportunity to serve the residents of our wonderful community on the Mercer Island City Council. As a third-generation Washingtonian, with more than a decade of public service with a track record of making a difference and delivering results, I am ready to serve as your representative.
We are fortunate to live on Mercer Island, with its natural beauty, perfect location in the middle of Lake Washington, top-rated schools, and abundant parks and trails. However, the true strength of the Island comes from the wonderful people who make up our community.
My wife and I moved home to Mercer Island because we knew how near-perfect this community would be for us, and it was the best decision we have ever made. My goal as your representative on the City Council will be to enhance the unique nature of our community as we prepare to meet the needs and opportunities of the future.
In the next few years, our community will face tough challenges that will require our leaders to build consensus and make decisions to ensure that what we value as Islanders is rejuvenated and retained. I have always been able to bring together a variety of viewpoints to achieve goals on behalf of constituents and will bring this experience to our community as we meet these challenges together.
Over the course of this campaign, I look forward to hearing directly from you about ways we can work together to improve our community and your perspectives on our challenges and opportunities.
During the week, I work in communications at Rover, where our goal is to allow everyone to experience the unconditional love of pets. On weekends, you can find me exploring and enjoying all the parks and businesses Mercer Island has to offer with my wife, Miri Cypers, and our two-year-old.
